โ 200 ml whole milk
โ 150 g Cheddar cheese, grated
โ 1 tablespoon butter
โ 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
โ 1/2 teaspoon mustard (optional)
โ 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
โ Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
1. Prepare the Roux:
โ In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter.
โ Add the flour and whisk continuously for about 1 minute until smooth.
2. Make the Sauce:
โ Gradually pour in the milk while whisking to avoid lumps.
โ Continue stirring until the mixture thickens slightly.
3. Add the Cheese & Seasonings:
โ Lower the heat and stir in the grated Cheddar cheese until fully melted.
โ Add mustard, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
4. Serve Hot:
โ Pour over crispy fries and enjoy!
Tip: If the sauce is too thick, add a little more milk to reach the desired consistency.
