1/3 cup soy sauce
1/3 cup olive oil
1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
2 tablespoons lemon juice
2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar (optional but amazing)
2 tablespoons brown sugar (or honey)
4 garlic cloves, minced
1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon smoked paprika (optional)
1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional for heat)
Fresh rosemary or thyme sprigs (optional, but great for grilling)
Instructions
1. In a medium bowl, whisk together all ingredients.
2. Place steak(s) in a zip-top bag or shallow dish.
3. Pour marinade over steak, making sure it’s well coated.
4. Marinate:
30 minutes minimum
2–4 hours for best flavor
Up to 24 hours for tougher cuts like flank or skirt
5. Remove steak from marinade, pat dry, and cook as desired (grill, pan-sear, broil).
6. Let rest 5 minutes before slicing.
Tips for Perfect Results
Patting the steak dry ensures a great sear.
Don’t reuse marinade unless you boil it for 3 minutes.
Add a tablespoon of Dijon mustard if you want extra depth.
