T-Bone Steak Recipe

Ingredients:

* 1 large T-bone steak (about 1–1.5 inches thick)

* 1 tbsp olive oil

* 1 tbsp butter

* 2 cloves garlic, smashed

* 1 sprig fresh rosemary (or thyme)

* Salt and black pepper, to taste

* Optional: pinch of smoked paprika or steak seasoning for extra flavor

Instructions:

1. Prep the Steak:

Let the T-bone steak rest at room temperature for 30–45 minutes. Pat dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.

2. Season:

Generously season both sides with salt, black pepper, and optional steak seasoning.

3. Sear:

Heat a heavy skillet (cast iron preferred) over high heat. Add olive oil.

Once hot, sear the steak for 2–3 minutes per side until a golden crust forms.

4. Add Flavor:

Lower heat slightly. Add butter, garlic, and rosemary to the pan.

Spoon the melted butter over the steak continuously for 1–2 minutes (basting).

5. Finish Cooking:

* For medium-rare: cook until internal temp reaches 130–135°F (54–57°C).

* For medium: cook to 140–145°F (60–63°C).

You can also finish in the oven at 200°C (400°F) for 5–7 minutes if it’s a thick cut.

6. Rest:

Remove from heat and let the steak rest for 5–10 minutes before slicing. This keeps it juicy and tender.

👉 Tip: Serve with loaded mashed potatoes, roasted veggies, or a creamy peppercorn sauce for the ultimate steak dinner!
