Ingredients:

1 lb ground beef

1 tbsp olive oil

1 onion, diced

1 green bell pepper, diced

1/2 cup mushrooms, sliced (optional)

1 tbsp ketchup

1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

1 tbsp beef broth

Salt and pepper, to taste

4 slices provolone cheese

4 hamburger buns

Instructions:

Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add diced onions, green bell peppers, and mushrooms (if using). Cook until softened, about 5 minutes.

Add ground beef to the skillet and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula. Drain any excess fat.

Stir in ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, beef broth, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 5 minutes until the mixture thickens slightly.

Place a slice of provolone cheese over the beef mixture in the skillet, allowing it to melt slightly.

Spoon the beef mixture onto the bottom half of each hamburger bun. Top with the remaining half of the bun and serve hot.

Notes:

For an extra cheesy touch, add more provolone cheese or a cheese sauce on top.

You can also toast the buns for added texture and flavor.
