Ingredients:
Salisbury Steak:
Ground beef (80% lean) β 1 lb
Panko breadcrumbs β β

Onion (finely diced) β 1
Garlic cloves (minced) β 2
Tomato sauce (marinara) β β
cup
Large egg β 1
Yellow mustard β 1 tsp
Worcestershire sauce β 1 tsp
Dried oregano β 1 tsp
Salt and pepper β to taste
Vegetable oil β 4 tbsp, divided
Mushroom Gravy:
White button mushrooms (sliced) β 9 oz
Onion (sliced) β 1
Low sodium beef broth β 2 Β½ cups
Onion powder β 1 tsp
Garlic powder β Β½ tsp
Worcestershire sauce β 1 Β½ tsp
Cornstarch β 3 tbsp + ΒΌ cup water (or beef stock)
Salt and pepper β as needed
Vegetable oil β 1 tbsp
Instructions:
Prepare the Steaks:
SautΓ© diced onion and garlic in 2 tbsp of oil until soft.
In a large bowl, mix beef, sautΓ©ed onion, breadcrumbs, egg, tomato sauce, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, oregano, salt, and pepper.
Form 4-5 oval patties.
Brown patties in a skillet with 2 tbsp of oil (1 minute per side).
Make the Mushroom Gravy:
SautΓ© sliced onion in 1 tbsp oil until browned.
Add mushrooms and cook until golden.
Return patties to the skillet, add beef broth, onion powder, garlic powder, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper.
Bring to a boil, then simmer for 15 minutes.
Thicken the gravy by adding cornstarch mixed with water, cook until it thickens.
