Ingredients:

1 lb Polish sausage (kielbasa), sliced into rounds

4 medium potatoes, peeled and cut into chunks

1 (32 oz) jar sauerkraut, drained and rinsed (optional, for less tang)

1 small onion, chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup chicken broth (or water)

1 tsp caraway seeds (optional, for extra flavor)

1/2 tsp black pepper

1 tbsp butter or oil

Stovetop Method:

 

1. Heat butter or oil in a large skillet or Dutch oven over medium heat.
2. Add sliced kielbasa and cook until browned on both sides. Remove and set aside.
3. In the same pan, sauté onions until soft, then add garlic and cook for another 30 seconds.
4. Stir in potatoes, sauerkraut, chicken broth, caraway seeds (if using), and black pepper. Mix well.
5. Return the sausage to the pan, cover, and simmer for 25–30 minutes or until the potatoes are tender.
6. Serve hot and enjoy!
Slow Cooker Method:
1.Layer potatoes, sauerkraut, onion, garlic, and sausage in the slow cooker.
2.Sprinkle with caraway seeds and black pepper.
3.Pour in the chicken broth, cover, and cook on low for 6–8 hours or high for 3–4 hours until potatoes are tender.
4.Stir and serve warm!
