Ingredients:
1 lb sirloin steak or ribeye, cut into 1-inch cubes
Salt and pepper to taste
2 tbsp olive oil
4 tbsp unsalted butter
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
️ Optional: pinch of red pepper flakes
1.5 lbs Yukon Gold potatoes, peeled and cubed
1/4 cup butter
1/2 cup milk or cream
Salt and pepper to taste
Optional: chopped chives or parsley for garnish
Directions:
Step
Place the potatoes in a pot of salted water, bring to a boil, and cook until tender, about 15-20 minutes. Drain well.
Step : *Mash Potatoes*
In the same pot, add butter and milk to the drained potatoes and mash until smooth and creamy. Season with salt and pepper to taste, then cover to keep warm.
Step : *Season and Sear Steak*
Season the steak cubes with salt and pepper. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the steak cubes in a single layer and sear for 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown. Remove the steak from the skillet and set aside.
Step : *Make Garlic Butter*
In the same skillet, add butter and minced garlic. Stir until the butter melts and the garlic is fragrant, about 1 minute. Be careful not to burn the garlic. Return the steak bites to the skillet, tossing them in the garlic butter for another minute. Add parsley and a pinch of red pepper flakes, if desired.
Step : *Plate the Dish*
️ Spoon the mashed potatoes onto a plate and top with the garlic butter steak bites. Garnish with fresh parsley or chives if desired.
