Ingredients
1 lb ground beef
1 large onion, sliced
2 cups cooked white rice
1 can (10.5 oz) French onion soup
1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tsp garlic powder
Salt and pepper to taste
Fresh parsley for garnish
Directions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon. Drain excess fat.
Add the sliced onions to the skillet with the beef. Cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the onions are caramelized and soft.
Stir in garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Pour in the French onion soup and simmer for 2-3 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.
In a greased baking dish, layer the cooked rice and then top with the beef and onion mixture.
Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top and bake for 15-20 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Garnish with fresh parsley and serve hot.
