Prepare the Hamburger Patties:

In a large bowl, combine ground beef, hamburger seasoning, seasoned salt, and garlic powder. Mix until just combined.
Divide the mixture into four equal portions (4 ounces each). Shape each portion into a loose ball.
Place each ball between two sheets of parchment paper. Using a rolling pin or your hands, press each ball into a thin, round patty about 5 inches in diameter. Set aside.
Cook the Patties:

Heat a skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat.
Cook each patty for about 2-3 minutes per side, or until desired doneness. Remove from heat and set aside.
Prepare the Grilled Cheese Buns:

Butter one side of each hamburger bun half.
Heat a clean skillet over medium heat. Place a bun half, buttered side down, into the skillet.
Top with a slice of American cheese, then place another bun half on top, buttered side up, creating a sandwich.
Cook until golden brown on both sides and the cheese has melted, about 2-3 minutes per side. Repeat with remaining buns and cheese slices.
Assemble the Grilled Cheese Burgers:

Take one grilled cheese sandwich and open it carefully. Place one cooked hamburger patty inside, add desired toppings, and close the sandwich.
Repeat with the remaining grilled cheese sandwiches and patties.
Serve:

Serve immediately, optionally accompanied by sides like French fries, onion rings, or a fresh salad.
Notes:

Cheese Variations: Feel free to substitute American cheese with your preferred cheese variety, such as cheddar, Swiss, or provolone.
Make-Ahead Patties: The hamburger patties can be prepared in advance. After forming, wrap them in plastic wrap and refrigerate for up to two days, or freeze for longer storage.
Serving Size: This recipe yields two substantial sandwiches, which can be halved to serve four people if desired.
