Ingredients
For the Beef
1 lb flank steak thinly sliced against the grain
2 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp cornstarch
For the Sauce
1/4 cup soy sauce
2 tbsp oyster sauce
2 tbsp hoisin sauce
1 tsp sesame oil
1/2 tsp sugar
1/4 cup beef broth
For the Stir-Fry
8 oz lo mein noodles or use spaghetti
2 tbsp vegetable oil divided
1 small onion sliced
1 cup broccoli florets
1/2 cup carrots julienned
1/2 red bell pepper sliced
2 cloves garlic minced
1 tsp grated ginger
Instructions
Step 1: In a bowl, combine sliced flank steak with soy sauce and cornstarch. Set aside to marinate for 10 minutes.
Step 2: In a small bowl, whisk together the sauce ingredients: soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, sesame oil, sugar, and beef broth. Set aside.
Step 3: Cook lo mein noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
Step 4: Heat 1 tbsp of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over high heat. Sear the beef for 2–3 minutes until browned. Remove and set aside.
Step 5: Add the remaining oil to the skillet. Sauté onions, broccoli, carrots, and bell pepper for 3–4 minutes until tender-crisp. Add garlic and ginger, and cook for 1 more minute until fragrant.
Step 6: Return the beef to the skillet. Add the cooked noodles and pour in the sauce. Toss well over medium heat for 2–3 minutes until heated through and evenly coated.
Step 7: Serve immediately, garnished with sesame seeds or green onions if desired.
