Ingredients
500 g of minced meat (beef, veal or chicken)
100 g fresh spinach (chopped)
2 cloves of garlic (minced)
1 egg
50 g of breadcrumbs
50 g grated parmesan
1 teaspoon of dried oregano
1 teaspoon of salt
½ teaspoon of pepper
1 ball of mozzarella, diced
2 tablespoons of olive oil
500 ml of homemade or store-bought tomato sauce
Preparation :
Prepare the mixture: In a large bowl, combine the ground meat, chopped spinach, garlic, egg, breadcrumbs, Parmesan, oregano, salt and pepper. Mix well with your hands.
Form the meatballs: Take a portion of meat, form a ball, insert a cube of mozzarella and close carefully to enclose the cheese.
Cook the meatballs: Heat the olive oil in a pan over medium heat and brown the meatballs on all sides (5 to 7 minutes).
Add the sauce: Pour the tomato sauce into the pan and simmer over low heat for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Serve: Enjoy hot with pasta, rice or crusty bread!
Tip: For even more flavor, add a pinch of chili pepper or chopped fresh basil before serving!
