For the Asparagus:
1 bunch fresh asparagus (trimmed, about 1 lb)
4 slices prosciutto (or bacon for extra smokiness)
2 tbsp olive oil
Salt and pepper , to taste
For the Glaze:
¼ cup balsamic vinegar
Instructions:
1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. Prepare the asparagus: Rinse and trim the woody ends.
3. Wrap 3–4 asparagus spears with one slice of prosciutto. Repeat until all are wrapped.
4. Drizzle with olive oil, and season lightly with salt and pepper (remember, prosciutto is salty).
5. Roast in the oven for 12–15 minutes, or until asparagus is tender and prosciutto is crispy.
6. Make the glaze: In a small pan, simmer the balsamic vinegar over medium heat until reduced by half and thickened, about 5–7 minutes.
7. Drizzle glaze over the hot asparagus bundles and serve immediately.
