Ingredients
For the Meat: • 2 ribeye steaks
For the Produce: • 3 cloves garlic, minced
* Juice of 1/2 lemon
* 1 tbsp fresh rosemary
* 1 tbsp fresh thyme
For the Baking & Spices: • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
For the Oils & Vinegars: • ️ 2 tbsp olive oil
For the Dairy: • 4 tbsp unsalted butter
Instructions
1. Prepare the Steaks:
Pat the ribeye steaks dry with a paper towel .
Generously season both sides with salt and freshly ground black pepper
2.Heat the Skillet:
Heat olive oil ️ in a large cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering.
3. Sear the Steaks:
Add the steaks to the skillet and sear for 3-4 minutes on each side, depending on your preferred doneness. For medium-rare, cook until the internal temperature reaches 135°F (57°C) ️.
4. Add Garlic Butter & Herbs:
Reduce the heat to medium and add butter , minced garlic , rosemary , and thyme to the skillet.
Tilt the pan slightly and spoon the melted butter and herbs over the steaks, basting them continuously for 1-2 minutes ⏱️.
5. Rest the Steaks:
Remove the steaks from the skillet and let them rest on a plate for 5 minutes to retain their juices .
6. Add Lemon Juice:
Squeeze the juice of 1/2 lemon over the steaks for a bright, tangy finish .
7. Serve and Enjoy:
Plate the steaks , drizzle with the remaining garlic butter from the skillet , and serve hot with your favorite sides ️.
