Ingredients:
For the Seared Steak:
2 ribeye or sirloin steaks (about 1 lb each)
2 tbsp olive oil
2 tbsp unsalted butter
3 cloves garlic, smashed
2 sprigs fresh thyme (or rosemary)
Salt and pepper, to taste
For the Creamy Cajun Shrimp:
1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
2 tbsp olive oil
2 tbsp Cajun seasoning
2 tbsp unsalted butter
1 cup heavy cream
½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tbsp lemon juice
1 tbsp chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)
Instructions:
1. Cook the Steaks:
Season steaks generously with salt and pepper.
Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
Add steaks and sear for 3-4 minutes on each side until a golden crust forms.
Add butter, smashed garlic, and thyme (or rosemary).
Spoon the melted butter over the steaks for 1-2 minutes.
Remove the steaks from the skillet and let them rest.
2. Prepare the Cajun Shrimp:
In a bowl, toss the shrimp with Cajun seasoning.
In the same skillet, add olive oil and butter over medium heat.
Add minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds.
Add the shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes per side until pink.
Pour in the heavy cream, grated Parmesan, and lemon juice. Stir until the sauce thickens (about 3-5 minutes).
Season with salt and pepper to taste.
3. Serve:
Plate the seared steaks topped with creamy Cajun shrimp.
Garnish with chopped parsley and serve hot.
Tips:
Perfect Steak: Let steaks come to room temperature before cooking for even searing.
Extra Creamy Sauce: Add more Parmesan for a thicker, creamier sauce.
Spice It Up: Add a pinch of red pepper flakes for extra heat.
