Ingredients:
For the Steak:
2 (8 oz) steaks (such as ribeye or filet mignon)
Salt and pepper to taste
1 tablespoon olive oil
For the Cajun Shrimp Sauce:
1 tablespoon butter
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
1 small onion, finely chopped
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning
1/2 cup chicken broth
1 cup heavy cream
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Salt and pepper to taste
Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Directions:
Season the steaks with salt and pepper. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the steaks and cook to your desired level of doneness, about 4-5 minutes per side for medium-rare. Remove the steaks from the skillet and set aside to rest.
In the same skillet, add the butter and olive oil. Once the butter has melted, add the chopped onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
Add the minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.
Add the shrimp and Cajun seasoning to the skillet. Cook until the shrimp are pink and opaque, about 3-4 minutes.
Pour in the chicken broth and bring to a simmer. Cook for 2-3 minutes to reduce slightly.
Stir in the heavy cream and Parmesan cheese. Cook until the sauce is thickened and creamy, about 3-4 minutes. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Serve the steaks topped with the creamy Cajun shrimp sauce. Garnish with fresh chopped parsley.
