Ingredients
Serves 12–15
1 can (21 oz) strawberry pie filling
1 package (8 oz) cream cheese , softened
1 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 box (15.25 oz) white or yellow cake mix
½ cup unsalted butter , melted
Optional Toppings : Whipped cream, fresh strawberries, powdered sugar
Instructions
Step 1: Preheat & Prep
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) . Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
Step 2: Layer the Filling
Spread the strawberry pie filling evenly across the bottom of the prepared pan.
In a mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
Drop spoonfuls of the cream cheese mixture over the strawberry layer, spreading gently to cover as much as possible (it doesn’t have to be perfect).
Step 3: Add the Cake Mix
Sprinkle the dry cake mix evenly over the cream cheese layer. Do not stir.
Step 4: Pour the Butter
Drizzle the melted butter evenly over the top of the cake mix. Again, do not stir.
Step 5: Bake
Bake for 45–55 minutes , until the top is golden brown and the edges are bubbly.
Step 6: Cool & Serve
Let cool slightly before serving. Top with whipped cream, fresh strawberries, or a dusting of powdered sugar if desired.
