step1: In a small bowl, combine the sliced strawberries, sugar, and lemon juice (if using). Toss to coat.

Set aside to macerate for about 10-15 minutes, allowing the strawberries to release their juices.

Step 2: Make the French Toast

In a shallow bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, cinnamon, sugar, and salt.

Heat a skillet or griddle over medium heat and add a little butter to coat.

Dip each slice of bread into the egg mixture, ensuring both sides are well coated.

Place the bread slices on the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes per side, or until golden brown and crispy.

Remove from the skillet and set aside on a plate.

Step 3: Make the Cream Sauce

In a small saucepan, heat the heavy cream over medium heat.

Once it starts to simmer, reduce the heat and whisk in the powdered sugar and vanilla extract.

Stir continuously until the sauce thickens slightly (about 2-3 minutes), then remove from heat.

Step 4: Assemble the Dish

Place the cooked French toast on serving plates.

Spoon the macerated strawberries over the French toast.

Drizzle the cream sauce on top, and garnish with extra fresh strawberries for a beautiful finish.

Enjoy your Strawberry Cream French Toast — a sweet, indulgent breakfast or dessert that’s sure to impress!
