Ingredients:
350g plain flour (plus extra for dusting)
250g plain yogurt (Greek-style works well)
1 tsp baking powder (optional, for a bit of fluffiness)
1 tsp salt
For Garlic Butter:
2–3 garlic cloves, minced
2–3 tbsp butter (or more to taste)
Optional: chopped fresh parsley or coriander for garnish
Instructions:
1. Make the Dough:
In a large bowl, mix flour, yogurt, salt, and baking powder (if using) until a rough dough forms.
Knead the dough on a floured surface for 4–5 minutes until smooth.
Cover and let it rest for 20–30 minutes (optional, but helps the texture).
2. Prepare Garlic Butter:
Melt butter in a pan over low heat.
Add minced garlic and cook gently for 1–2 minutes until fragrant (don’t brown it).
Set aside.
3. Shape the Flatbreads:
Divide the dough into 6–8 equal balls.
Roll each ball out on a floured surface into a thin oval or circle.
4. Cook the Flatbreads:
Heat a dry skillet or non-stick pan over medium-high heat.
Cook each flatbread for 1–2 minutes per side, until golden spots appear and it puffs slightly.
Brush each flatbread with the garlic butter as soon as it comes off the pan.
5. Serve:
Sprinkle with chopped parsley or coriander if desired.
Serve warm with dips, curries, or just on its own!
