Step 1: Cook the Pasta

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
Step 2: Brown the Beef
Heat the olive oil in a large skillet or Dutch oven over medium heat. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon (about 6โ€“8 minutes). Drain excess grease if needed.
Step 3: Add Aromatics & Sauce
Stir in the chopped onion and cook for 3โ€“4 minutes, until softened. Add the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute, until fragrant.
Stir in the ketchup, mustard, brown sugar, smoked paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 5 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.
Step 4: Combine with Pasta
Add the cooked pasta to the skillet with the beef mixture. Stir until the pasta is evenly coated in the sauce.
Step 5: Add the Cheese
Sprinkle the shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheeses evenly over the top of the pasta. Cover the skillet and let it sit for 2โ€“3 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Step 6: Serve
Top with optional garnishes like diced pickles, sliced green onions, or crushed potato chips for added texture and flavor. Serve warm and enjoy!
