Ingredients:
1½ cups freshly squeezed lemon juice (about 6–8 lemons)
1 cup granulated sugar (adjust to taste)
5 cups cold water
1 cup ice (optional, for serving)
Lemon slices (optional, for garnish)
Fresh mint (optional, for garnish)
Instructions:
1. Make a simple syrup (optional, but recommended):
In a small saucepan, combine 1 cup sugar with 1 cup water. Heat over medium heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves completely. Let it cool.
2. Mix:
In a large pitcher, combine the 1½ cups lemon juice, the simple syrup, and the remaining 4 cups cold water. Stir well.
3. Adjust to taste:
Taste your lemonade. If it’s too tart, add more sugar or water. If it’s too sweet, add a bit more lemon juice or water.
4. Chill & Serve:
Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes. Serve over ice with lemon slices and a sprig of mint if desired.
