Ingredients:
– 4 large turkey wings, split at the joint
– 2 cups buttermilk
– 2 tablespoons hot sauce
– 2 cups all-purpose flour
– 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning
– 1 teaspoon garlic powder
– 1 teaspoon onion powder
– 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
– Salt and pepper to taste
– Vegetable oil, for frying
Directions:
- In a large bowl, whisk together buttermilk and hot sauce. Add turkey wings, making sure they are fully submerged. Cover and marinate in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.
- In a large zip-lock bag, mix together flour, Cajun seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Remove turkey wings from the buttermilk mixture, allowing excess to drip off. Place wings, a few at a time, into the flour mixture bag. Seal the bag and shake to coat wings evenly.
- Heat vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 375°F (190°C).
- Fry the turkey wings in batches until golden brown and cooked through, about 10 to 15 minutes per batch. Ensure the internal temperature of the meat reaches 165°F (74°C).
- Drain on paper towels and serve hot.
