instructions

Season the Seafood: Pat the salmon fillets and shrimp dry with paper towels. In a small bowl, mix the Cajun seasoning, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Sprinkle this seasoning mixture over both sides of the salmon and shrimp, ensuring they are evenly coated.
Cook the Salmon: Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Once hot, place the salmon fillets skin-side down (if the skin is still on) and cook for 4-5 minutes per side, or until the salmon is cooked through and has a golden-brown crust. Remove the salmon from the skillet and set aside.
Cook the Shrimp: In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of olive oil. Once the oil is hot, add the seasoned shrimp in a single layer. Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until the shrimp turns pink and opaque. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside with the salmon.
SECOND STEP: PREPARE THE GARLIC CREAM SAUCE
Sauté the Garlic: In the same skillet, add 1 tablespoon of olive oil and sauté the minced garlic over medium heat for 1-2 minutes, or until fragrant. Be careful not to burn the garlic.
Make the Cream Sauce: Add the butter to the skillet, allowing it to melt. Then, pour in the heavy cream and bring the mixture to a gentle simmer. Cook for 3-4 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the cream has thickened slightly.
Add the Parmesan and Lemon: Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese, continuing to cook until the cheese has melted and the sauce is smooth. Add the lemon juice and season with salt and pepper to taste. If the sauce is too thick, you can add a splash of water or broth to reach your desired consistency.
Combine the Seafood and Sauce: Return the shrimp and salmon to the skillet, spooning some of the garlic cream sauce over the top of the seafood. Let everything heat through for a couple of minutes before serving.
THIRD STEP: PREPARE THE MASHED POTATOES
Cook the Potatoes: Place the cubed potatoes in a large pot of salted water. Bring the water to a boil and cook the potatoes for 10-12 minutes, or until they are fork-tender.
Mash the Potatoes: Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot. Add the butter, milk, garlic powder (if using), salt, and pepper. Mash the potatoes until smooth and creamy, adjusting the seasoning as needed.
FOURTH STEP: PREPARE THE GREEN BEANS
Sauté the Green Beans: Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the trimmed green beans and sauté for 5-7 minutes, or until they are tender-crisp. Season with garlic powder, salt, and pepper to taste.
Serve: Once the green beans are cooked, remove them from the skillet and set them aside.
FINAL STEP: ASSEMBLE AND SERVE
Plate the Dish: To serve, place a generous portion of mashed potatoes on each plate. Top with a salmon fillet and a few shrimp. Spoon the garlic cream sauce over the seafood, allowing it to drizzle down onto the potatoes.
Garnish: Sprinkle with chopped parsley for a fresh, vibrant touch. Add a lemon wedge to each plate for extra zest.
Serve: Serve the green beans on the side, and enjoy the perfect balance of rich, spicy seafood, creamy mashed potatoes, and crisp vegetables.
