1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1 teaspoon dried thyme
1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon salt
For the Feast:
1 pound sirloin steak, sliced into strips
1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
2 tablespoons olive oil (divided)
1 red bell pepper, sliced
1 green bell pepper, sliced
1 small onion, sliced
3 garlic cloves, minced
1/4 cup unsalted butter
1/4 cup chicken or beef broth
Juice of 1 lemon
Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Cooked rice or crusty bread (for serving)
Instructions
For the Cajun Seasoning:
Mix the seasoning: In a small bowl, combine smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, thyme, cayenne pepper, black pepper, and salt. Set aside.
For the Feast:
Season the steak and shrimp: In a large bowl, toss the steak strips and shrimp with half of the Cajun seasoning. Let marinate for 10-15 minutes.
Cook the steak: Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet or cast-iron pan over medium-high heat. Add the steak strips and sear for 2-3 minutes per side, or until browned and cooked to your desired doneness. Remove and set aside.
Cook the shrimp: In the same skillet, add the remaining olive oil. Add the shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes per side, or until pink and opaque. Remove and set aside.
Sauté the vegetables: In the same skillet, add the bell peppers, onion, and garlic. Sauté for 4-5 minutes until softened.
Combine and finish: Return the steak and shrimp to the skillet. Add the butter, broth, and lemon juice. Sprinkle with the remaining Cajun seasoning. Stir to combine and cook for 2-3 minutes until everything is heated through and coated in the flavorful sauce.
Garnish and serve: Remove from heat and garnish with fresh parsley. Serve over cooked rice or with crusty bread on the side.
