Ingredients:
For the Bread:
1 large French baguette or Italian loaf
2 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
2 cloves garlic, minced (or more, if you love garlic!)
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
½ cup shredded cheddar or parmesan (optional for extra richness)
1 tablespoon chopped parsley (for garnish)
For the Seafood Mixture:
200–250g (about ½ lb) cooked seafood (shrimp, crab, or a mix) – chopped if large
2 tablespoons cream cheese (softened) or mayo
1 tablespoon lemon juice
½ teaspoon chili flakes (optional)
Salt & pepper to taste
Instructions:
1. Prep the Bread:
1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
2. Slice the loaf in half lengthwise. Place on a baking sheet cut side up.
2. Make Garlic Butter:
1. In a small bowl, mix softened butter, olive oil, and minced garlic.
2. Spread the garlic butter evenly over the bread halves.
3. Make the Seafood Topping:
1. In a bowl, combine the cooked seafood, cream cheese or mayo, lemon juice, chili flakes, and a little salt and pepper.
2. Spread the seafood mixture over the garlic-buttered bread.
4. Add Cheese:
Sprinkle mozzarella (and cheddar/parmesan if using) generously over the seafood.
5. Bake:
Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until cheese is melted and bubbly.
For a golden top, broil for an extra 2–3 minutes — watch closely!
6. Garnish & Serve:
Sprinkle with chopped parsley and an extra squeeze of lemon juice if desired.
Slice and serve warm.
