Chocolate Mousse Cake

 

Ingredients:

For the crust:
– 1 cup chocolate cookie crumbs
– 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted

For the dark chocolate mousse:
– 1 cup heavy cream
– 200g dark chocolate, chopped
– 2 tablespoons sugar

For the milk chocolate mousse:
– 1 cup heavy cream
– 200g milk chocolate, chopped
– 2 tablespoons sugar

For the white chocolate mousse:
– 1 cup heavy cream
– 200g white chocolate, chopped
– 2 tablespoons sugar

For garnish:
– Chocolate shavings

 

Directions:

 

1. Begin by mixing the chocolate cookie crumbs and melted butter in a small bowl. Firmly press this mixture into the base of a springform pan to form a crust. Place it in the refrigerator to chill and set.

2. Prepare the dark chocolate mousse: Heat the heavy cream until it’s steaming, then pour it over the chopped dark chocolate. Stir until the chocolate has melted and the mixture is smooth. Allow it to cool slightly before gently folding in the sugar. Pour this mixture over the prepared crust and return it to the refrigerator to set.

3. For the milk chocolate mousse, follow the same steps: Heat another cup of heavy cream, then pour it over the chopped milk chocolate. Stir until well blended and smooth. Layer this mixture over the chilled dark chocolate mousse and refrigerate once more.

4. Next, make the white chocolate mousse: heat the heavy cream, then mix it with the chopped white chocolate until fully melted. Incorporate the sugar, and then layer this over the milk chocolate mousse. Chill the entire cake for at least 4 hours or overnight to ensure it firms up properly.

5. Before serving, add a topping of chocolate shavings to garnish the cake beautifully.

Chilling Time: Minimum 4 hours.
Total Time: Approximately 4 hours 15 minutes.
Servings: 8 slices.
