1 tbsp butter

Salt and pepper, to taste

1/2 onion, finely chopped

3-4 cloves garlic, minced

8 oz mushrooms, sliced (button, cremini, or any variety you prefer)

1/2 cup chicken broth (or vegetable broth for a lighter option)

1/2 cup heavy cream

1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Salt and pepper, to taste

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
