Ingredients:
2 chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
1 cup all-purpose flour
Salt and pepper to taste
1/2 jar (about 1/2 cup) orange marmalade
1/2 bottle (about 1 cup) Sweet Baby Ray’s Original BBQ Sauce
2 tablespoons low-sodium soy sauce
Vegetable oil for frying
Cooked white rice, for serving
Steamed broccoli, for serving
Instructions:
Prepare the Chicken:
In a ziplock bag, combine the all-purpose flour, salt, and pepper.
Add the chicken pieces to the bag and shake until well coated.
Cook the Chicken:
Option 1: Air Fryer Method:
Preheat the air fryer to 380°F (190°C).
Place the coated chicken pieces in the air fryer basket in a single layer.
Air fry for 16 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through cooking, until the chicken is golden brown and cooked through.
Option 2: Stovetop Frying Method:
Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
Once the oil is hot, carefully add the coated chicken pieces to the skillet.
Fry the chicken for about 6-8 minutes, turning occasionally, until golden brown and cooked through.
Transfer the cooked chicken to a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil.
Make the Orange Sauce:
In a pot, combine the orange marmalade, Sweet Baby Ray’s Original BBQ Sauce, and low-sodium soy sauce.
Stir well to combine.
Heat the sauce over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until it comes to a simmer.
Combine Chicken and Sauce:
Once the sauce is simmering, add the cooked chicken pieces to the pot.
Toss the chicken in the sauce until evenly coated.
Let the chicken simmer in the sauce for an additional 2-3 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together.
Serve:
Serve the Easy Orange Chicken over cooked white rice.
Garnish with steamed broccoli on the side.
Enjoy your delicious homemade orange chicken!
