Ingredients
1 lb ground beef
1 small onion (chopped)
2 cloves garlic (minced)
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
2 tbsp all-purpose flour
2 cups beef broth
Salt and pepper to taste
Ingredients for the Mashed Potatoes:
4 large russet potatoes (peeled and cubed)
1/4 cup butter
1/2 cup milk
Salt and pepper to taste
Directions:
Prepare the Mashed Potatoes:
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the cubed potatoes and cook until tender, about 15-20 minutes.
Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot. Add the butter and milk. Mash until smooth and creamy. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Set aside.
Prepare the Ground Beef and Gravy:
In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned, breaking it up into small pieces as it cooks. Drain any excess fat.
Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes until softened.
Stir in the Worcestershire sauce and flour. Cook for 1-2 minutes to form a roux.
Slowly add the beef broth, stirring constantly until the gravy thickens. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Assemble the Dish:
Spoon a generous portion of mashed potatoes onto each plate.
Top with the ground beef and gravy mixture.
Serve hot and enjoy!
