Ingredients:

1 lb ground beef
1/2 cup breadcrumbs
1/4 cup onion, finely chopped
1 egg
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
Salt and pepper to taste
2 tbsp olive oil (for frying)
For the Gravy:
1/4 cup onion, sliced
2 cups beef broth
2 tbsp cornstarch (mixed with 2 tbsp water)
Salt and pepper to taste

Prepare the Patties: In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, chopped onion, egg, garlic powder, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined. Shape the mixture into 4 patties.
Cook the Patties: In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the patties and cook for 4-5 minutes on each side, or until browned and cooked through. Remove the patties from the skillet and set aside.
Make the Gravy: In the same skillet, add the sliced onion and sauté until softened. Pour in the beef broth and bring to a simmer. Stir in the cornstarch mixture and cook until the gravy thickens. Season with salt and pepper.
Serve: Place the hamburger steaks on plates and spoon the gravy over the top. Serve with mashed potatoes or rice.
