Ingredients:
1 cup white sugar
1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 cup water
1/8 tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla extract
Optional: 1–2 tbsp butter (for richness and shine)
Instructions:
1. Combine Dry Ingredients
In a medium saucepan, whisk together sugar, cocoa powder, and salt until well mixed.
2. Add Water
Gradually stir in the water until the mixture is smooth and lump-free.
3. Heat
Place the saucepan over medium heat. Bring to a gentle boil, stirring constantly to prevent scorching.
4. Simmer
Reduce heat and simmer for about 4–5 minutes, stirring often, until the sauce slightly thickens. (It will thicken more as it cools.)
5. Finish with Flavor
Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract (and butter if using). Mix until smooth and glossy.
6. Cool & Store
Let it cool slightly before serving. Store in a jar or airtight container in the fridge for up to 2–3 weeks. Reheat gently if needed.
