400 g (about 14 oz) ground beef
250 g (about 9 oz) noodles (ramen or udon)
2 tablespoons sesame oil
3 garlic cloves, minced
1 tablespoon ginger, grated (optional but recommended)
1/2 cup soy sauce (low sodium preferred)
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 tablespoon cornstarch (mixed with 2 tbsp water โ optional for thickening)
1/4 cup water
2 green onions, chopped
Optional: sesame seeds, red pepper flakes, or chopped vegetables (carrots, bell peppers, etc.)
Instructions:
Cook the noodles
Cook the noodles according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.
Prepare the sauce
In a bowl, mix soy sauce, brown sugar, water, and (optional) cornstarch slurry. Stir until smooth. Set aside.
Cook the beef
In a large skillet or wok, heat the sesame oil over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon (about 5โ7 minutes).
Add garlic and ginger
Add the minced garlic (and grated ginger, if using). Cook for 1โ2 minutes until fragrant.
Add sauce
Pour in the sauce mixture. Stir well to coat the beef and simmer for 2โ3 minutes until slightly thickened.
Combine with noodles
Add the cooked noodles to the pan. Toss everything together until well coated and heated through.
Garnish and serve
Sprinkle chopped green onions and sesame seeds on top. Add chili flakes for a spicy kick if desired.
