Salisbury Steak with Onion Gravy

โ€“ 1 lb ground beef
โ€“ 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
โ€“ 1/4 cup milk
โ€“ 1 small onion, finely chopped
โ€“ 1 clove garlic, minced
โ€“ 1 egg
โ€“ Salt and pepper to taste
โ€“ 2 tablespoons olive oil
โ€“ 1 cup beef broth
โ€“ 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
โ€“ 1 tablespoon flour

1. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, salt, pepper, and half of the chopped onion. Mix everything together until well combined.
2. Shape the mixture into four oval patties, pressing them slightly to hold their shape.
3. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the patties and cook for about 4-5 minutes per side until browned. Remove the patties from the skillet and set them aside.
4. In the same skillet, add the remaining chopped onion and garlic. Sautรฉ until softened and lightly browned, about 4 minutes.
5. Sprinkle the flour over the onions and garlic, stirring well to combine. Slowly pour in the beef broth while stirring, and then add Worcestershire sauce. Let the mixture come to a simmer and cook for about 5 minutes until it thickens slightly.
6. Return the patties to the skillet, spooning some of the gravy over the top. Cover the skillet and simmer for an additional 10 minutes, or until the patties are cooked through.
7. Serve the Salisbury steaks with the onion gravy on top.
