Ingredients:

2 tablespoons butter

3 cloves garlic, minced

2 tablespoons all-purpose flour

1 cup whole milk (or half-and-half for richer sauce)

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Salt and black pepper, to taste

Optional: pinch of crushed red pepper flakes, or a sprinkle of Italian seasoning

Instructions:

1. Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat.

2. Add garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant (don’t let it brown).

3. Whisk in the flour and cook for 1 minute to form a roux.

4. Gradually whisk in the milk, stirring constantly until smooth.

5. Bring to a gentle simmer and let it thicken for 2–3 minutes.

6. Stir in the Parmesan and season with salt and pepper to taste.

7. Simmer until the cheese is melted and the sauce is smooth and creamy.
