Instructions
1. Marinate the Chicken:
โ In a bowl, mix soy sauce, dark soy sauce, oyster sauce, honey, sugar, garlic, five-spice powder, and white pepper.
โ Coat the chicken thoroughly in the marinade.
โ Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes (overnight for best results).
2. Cooking Methods:
Air Fryer:
โ Preheat to 380ยฐF (190ยฐC).
โ Place chicken skin-side up and cook for 20 minutes, flipping halfway.
Oven:
โ Preheat to 420ยฐF (220ยฐC).
โ Bake for 25 minutes, basting with marinade halfway through.
Stovetop:
โ Heat 1 tbsp oil in a pan over medium-high heat.
โ Sear the chicken skin-side down for 2 minutes, then flip and sear for another 2 minutes.
โ Pour in the remaining marinade, reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 7 minutes per side.
โ Uncover, let the sauce reduce slightly, and baste the chicken for a glossy finish.
3. Serving:
โ Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds.
โ Serve with steamed rice and vegetables.
