Ingredients:
For the chicken patties:
1 lb (450g) ground chicken
1/4 cup ranch dressing (or 1 tbsp ranch seasoning mix)
1/3 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1/4 cup breadcrumbs (or crushed crackers)
1 egg
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp onion powder
Salt and pepper, to taste
For assembly:
Burger buns (toasted)
Slices of cheddar cheese
Lettuce
Tomato slices
Red onion slices
Pickles (optional)
Extra ranch dressing (for topping)
Instructions:
1. Make the patties:
In a mixing bowl, combine ground chicken, ranch dressing or seasoning, shredded cheddar, breadcrumbs, egg, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix just until combined — don’t overwork it.
2. Shape and cook:
Form into 4 patties. Cook on a greased skillet or grill over medium heat for about 5–6 minutes per side, or until fully cooked (internal temp of 165°F / 74°C).
3. Melt the cheese:
In the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty and cover the pan or grill to melt it.
4. Assemble the burger:
Toast the buns if desired. Layer lettuce, tomato, and onion on the bottom bun. Add the cheesy chicken patty, drizzle with more ranch dressing, then top with the other bun.
