Ingredients:
8 oz (225g) cream cheese, softened
½ cup sour cream (or Greek yogurt for a lighter version)
2–3 fresh jalapeños, finely chopped (remove seeds for less heat)
½ tsp garlic powder
½ tsp onion powder
¼ tsp salt (or to taste)
½ cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional, for extra richness)
1 tbsp lime juice (optional, for brightness)
Chopped cilantro or green onion, for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
1. Prep the jalapeños:
Finely chop them. If you like it mild, remove the seeds and ribs. For more heat, leave some in.
2. Mix the base:
In a bowl, beat the cream cheese until smooth.
Add sour cream, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and lime juice (if using). Mix well.
3. Add the heat & cheese:
Stir in chopped jalapeños and cheddar cheese (if using).
Taste and adjust seasoning or heat as needed.
4. Chill or serve warm:
Cold dip: Chill for at least 30 minutes to let flavors blend.
Warm dip: Transfer to a baking dish, top with extra cheese if desired, and bake at 375°F (190°C) for 15–20 minutes until bubbly and golden
5. Garnish & serve:
Sprinkle with chopped cilantro or green onion.
Serve with tortilla chips, crackers, veggie sticks, or toasted bread.
