Ingredients:
4 fish fillets (such as tilapia, cod, or sole)
Salt and pepper, to taste
2 tbsp olive oil or butter (for cooking)
3 tbsp unsalted butter
2 cloves garlic, minced
Juice of 1 lemon
1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (optional)
Lemon slices, for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
1. Prepare the fish:
Pat the fish fillets dry with paper towels.
Season both sides with salt and pepper.
2. Cook the fish:
Heat olive oil or 2 tbsp butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
Add the fish fillets and cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden and cooked through (fish should flake easily with a fork).
Remove the fish from the skillet and set aside.
3. Make lemon butter sauce:
In the same skillet, melt 3 tbsp butter over medium-low heat.
Add minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant (don’t let it brown).
Stir in lemon juice and cook for another 1 minute, letting the sauce slightly thicken.
4. Serve:
Pour the lemon butter sauce over the cooked fish fillets.
Sprinkle with chopped parsley and garnish with lemon slices if desired.
