Mozzarella Cheesesteak Stromboli

Ingredients

1 lb beef steak, thinly sliced (ribeye, sirloin, or shaved beef)

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 small onion, thinly sliced

1 small green bell pepper, thinly sliced (optional)

Salt and black pepper, to taste

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon onion powder

1 refrigerated pizza dough (or homemade, about 12–14 oz)

2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

1/2 cup provolone or white American cheese (optional, for extra cheesiness)

1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

1 tablespoon grated Parmesan cheese (optional, for topping)

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning (optional, for garnish)
Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.

2. Cook the steak & veggies:

Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.

Add sliced onions (and green bell peppers if using). Cook for 3–5 minutes until softened.

Add thinly sliced beef steak. Season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika if using.

Cook until beef is browned and cooked through (about 5–7 minutes). Remove from heat and let cool slightly.

3. Roll out the dough:

On a floured surface or parchment paper, roll the pizza dough into a rectangle (roughly 10×14 inches).

4. Assemble the Stromboli:

Spread the cooked beef and veggie mixture evenly down the center of the dough, leaving about 1–2 inches around the edges.

Sprinkle mozzarella cheese (and provolone/white American, if using) over the top.

5. Fold and seal:

Fold one long side of the dough over the filling, then the other side to enclose it like a log.

Pinch the edges to seal, and tuck in the ends.
