Ingredients:
1 lb large shrimp (peeled and deveined)
12 oz smoked sausage (sliced)
½ head green cabbage (chopped)
1 small onion (sliced)
1 red bell pepper (chopped)
1 carrot (sliced)
3 cloves garlic (minced)
2 tbsp olive oil or butter
Salt & pepper, to taste
Optional: paprika, red pepper flakes, Cajun seasoning
Cooked rice (white, brown, or cauliflower rice)
Instructions:
1. Prep Ingredients:
Make sure all your veggies are chopped, and your shrimp is cleaned and patted dry.
2. Cook the Sausage:
In a large skillet or wok, heat 1 tbsp of olive oil or butter over medium-high heat.
Add sliced sausage and cook until browned on both sides (about 5–6 minutes).
Remove from skillet and set aside.
3. Sauté Veggies:
In the same skillet, add remaining oil or butter.
Add onion, carrot, and bell pepper. Cook for 3–4 minutes.
Stir in garlic and cabbage. Season with salt, pepper, and optional spices (like paprika or Cajun seasoning).
Cook until cabbage softens, about 5–7 minutes.
4. Cook Shrimp:
Push the veggies to the side of the skillet or remove them if space is tight.
Add shrimp and cook 1–2 minutes per side, until pink and opaque.
5. Combine Everything:
Add sausage back to the pan and stir everything together.
Cook for another 2–3 minutes to heat through and blend flavors.
6. Serve:
Spoon over a bed of cooked rice. Garnish with fresh herbs or a squeeze of lemon juice if desired.
